COVENTRY 57048, centre second sweep, hour chapter with Roman numerals, within outer minutes and seconds chapter, blued steel hands, gilt three-quarter plate movement, the pillow-plate punch-stamped PATENT BB. No. 21421, the top plate signed and numbered on dial and incised with the Government Mark, thirty-four minutes Karrusel platform, chronometer escapement, cut bimetallic Pennington style balance, steel foot detent with jewelled locking stone, in later silver case hallmarked London 1948, casemaker's mark A.T.O. and glazed cuvette; walnut and burr yew travelling box with blue velvet lining and mother-of-pearl inlaid vacant cartouche to the top plate
