the silvered dial signed and numbered Arther Wm Webb Maker to the Admiralty, LONDON S.E No. 5706 and with the Government Mark, Roman hour numerals, subsidiary seconds and up-and-down dials, blued steel hands, the top plate incised with the Government Mark and 5706, polished steel screws, Earnshaw escapement, cut bimetallic balance with Webb's auxiliary fine spring, pinned, and bridging the cut, musheroom-shaped heat compensation weights, bright steel helical balance spring, gold-plated steel dovetail detent to side of banking block with jewelled locking stone, brass bowl, gimballed in three-tier light mahogany box with boxwood double stringing to front, the centre section with inset rectangular bone ivory plaque inscribed ARTHUR WM. WEBB. TWO DAYS 5706 and with the Government Mark

Arthur Webb entered No. 5706 in the 1910 Greenwich Annual Trial where it was placed twelth but was not purchased. He re-entered it in the 1911 Trial where it was placed seventeenth and was purchased for the Government service at a cost of ¨43.

He gave his address as 69 Charlton Road, Blackheath, London S.E. and described the escapemet "Auxiliary to balance; bright steel spring".
