L. Baumgärtel in Liepzig, sweep centre seconds with applied silvered subsidiary seconds ring above 30 and shaped hour aperture with pin-hole adjustment and blued pointer, the four pillar movement with deadbeat escapement, châtons-set jewelled escapement and 'scape wheel pivots, high quality knife-edge suspended steel-rod mercury pendulum with fine adjustment to the crutchpiece, the mercury jar of hexagonal form mounted between two steel rods and with silvered calibration nut and blued steel pointer engraved on either side R. A., the pulley-system drive hidden behind the ebonised backboard, indirect drive via a steel arm coupling system to the centre wheel and wound via a steel arbor above the dial; original ebony-handled crank key
