A pair of George III two-handled campana-shaped wine coolers and covers, each on a spreading circular base with rim foot, chased with a band of berried laurel and acanthus foliage and a band of rosettes within a strapwork lattice pattern, acanthus foliage ring handles issuing from Bacchus masks, the upper body applied with a band of fruiting vines, with beaded and ovolo rim, the domed cover with pomegranate finial on a foliage calyx complete with collar and liner, with plated wirework domed frames for use as flower vases, engraved with coat of arms and presentation inscription, by Matthew Boulton Plate Co., Birmingham 1818, 14½in. (37cm) high, (339oz), in metal bound wood case.
One inscribed 'Sans Sanci. To Richard Torin Esq. as a Mark of Their Esteem and Regard and Testimony of the High Sense they Entertain of his Conduct for a Period of more than Six Years During which he had been Senior Member of the Club.
