The arms are those of James impaling Ellison. Sir Walter Charles James, 2nd baronet, was M.P. for Hull 1837-47 and High Sheriff of Kent 1885. Created Baron Northbourne in 1884 and died 1893. He married Sarah Caroline Ellison, daughter of Cuthbert Ellison of Hepburn Hall, Co. Durham, in 1841.
