Lot Essay

This feather ball was passed to the vendor after World War II by a distinguished wartime comrade, the late Squadron Leader P N Clapham D.F.C, a fellow officer in the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who, in 1944/45, flew as navigator in Mosquitoes to Air Vice-Marshal B E (later Air Chief Marshal Sir Basil) Embry.
The ball had been handed down to Clapham, later a member of M16 and himself a golfer, by his grandfather.
