In the 1936-37 Glasgow Cup Final Rangers defeated Patrick Thistle 6-1 after the first match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Archie McAulay was born in Falkirk on 30th July 1915 and joined Rangers as a professional in March 1933. He won a League Championship medal in season 1934-35 and was transferred to West Ham United in June 1937 for (6,000. During World War 2 he was a guest player for Falkirk, Northampton Town, Aldershot and Doncaster Rovers, before joining Brentford in November 1946. Thereafter, he joined Arsenal in July 1947 (winning a Championship medal in season 1947-48), Fulham in May 1950 ((10,000) and Guildford City as player manager in June 1953. He later became trainer/coach at Dundee and Manager at Norwich City in April 1957. He joined West Bromwich Albion in the same capacity in October 1961 and was Brighton & Hove Albion's Manager from April 1963 to October 1968. McAulay also played for Scotland at full International level on seven occasions and appeared for them in five Wartime Internationals
