The last championship before the out-break of W.W.1 was won by Everton with 46 points, Oldham Athlectic being runners-up on 45 points. Because of hostilities there were no official Football League Championship's between seasons 1915-16 and 1918-19 when tournaments were played on a regional basis, such as the Lancashire Regional Tournament, London Combination, Midland Regional Tournament etc.
