Lot Essay

This lot is accompanied by a letter dated 10 March 1963 from Edward J.P. Tatelman (Judge, Cristobal District, 1931-1958) describing the location and its connections with the Panama Railroad and the construction of the Panama Canal. 'Colon' or Aspinwall was named after Columbus and one of the founders of the Panama Railroad, commenced in 1860 and completed in 1865
