Holland & Holland have kindly confirmed that the rifle was completed on 25 January 1897. It was initially shot and regulated with 30 grains of cordite and, in keeping with most early .303 rifles, subsequently re-regulated with new sights. The Holland & Holland books have two further entries in March and June 1908 detailing the work undertaken
