The waisted rectangular lid with boxwood and ebony simulated ribbon-edge surmounted by a rectangular panel with two roundels centred by a fan-motif, enclosing a fitted interior with two canisters with conforming sliding lids, centred by a shallow well with a small loose tray, the front with further fan-motif roundels and the sides with plain ovals above a ribbon-edge and bracket feet, the canisters with remains of the zinc-lining and with later mahogany fittings, restorations, formerly with handle on the lid
