Crossbanded overall in tulipwood, amaranth and mahogany, and inlaid with boxwood lines, the moulded rectangular breakfront cornice above a panelled frieze and three columns of adjustable shelves, the base section with lozenge parquetry-inlaid secretaire-drawer enclosing a fitted interior with cedar-lined drawers and pigeon-holes above a purple floral damask writing-surface flanked by two further pairs of drawers each with secret compartments, the base section with three further open adjustable shelves on a moulded mahogany plinth, with printed label Telephone No. 138 H.R. LAND Removals & Warehousing. 30/31, CHURCHGATE ST BURY ST. EDMUNDS 24869 , with chalk inscription CONDON three times, the plinth with ebony lines, the locks stamped J. BRAMAH beneath a crown 124 Piccadilly
