ATTRIBUTED TO GILLOWS OF LANCASTER

The rectangular moulded top with concave centre surmounted by a three-quarter reeded gallery with shaped back centred by a palmette, above a central frieze drawer and kneehole flanked by two drawers at either side, the reverse with four simulated panels, on turned reeded tapering baluster legs headed by a curved panel and terminating in brass castors, with fitted glass top

Lot Essay

The dressing-table with turned reeded legs has a hollow-centred and moulded top and a palmette centering its Grecian-scrolled back. This is en suite with the wardrobe (lot 153), and corresponds to a pattern that features in Gillows' Estimate Sketch Books for July 1818, no. 2080
