After the painting of 1826 now in the National Gallery of Victoria, Melbourne, with some differences, for example to the willow trees to the right of the lock. It is interesting to note that the whereabouts of the Melbourne picture were unknown until its discovery in 1950 in a West Country collection. Another version, painted the same year, originally for James Carpenter, was taken back by Constable and given to the Royal Academy in 1829 as his Diploma work. This shows Flatford Old Bridge and Bridge Cottage to the right
