Transitional, mid-17th Century, mounts with indistinct mark, probably Dutch
The pear-shaped jug with waisted short cylindrical neck and loop handle, painted with a group of five scholars attended by two boys beside plantain on a mountain slope, the silver hinged domed cover with foliate lappet scroll thumbpiece
9 7/8 in. (25 cm.) high
