Lot Essay

Cf. Alwyn Cox and Angela Cox, 'Rockingham Pottery & Porcelain (London, 1983), p. 122-3 and pl.67 where a plate from the same service is illustrated and where the authors note that this .. unusual dinner plate .. is distinctively enamelled in a famille verte palette over an oriental-style print, with even the paste tinted a greyish colour in imitation of hard-paste Chinese porcelain.'
