Circa 1830, puce printed griffin and script mark
Printed and painted with two exotic birds in flight over stylised lotuses, foliage and ruyi-heads, the green-ground border with flowers and foliage and reserved with lobed cartouches enclosing birds, flowers and foliage, the rim with iron-red and gilt gadrooning

Alwyn Cox and Angela Cox, 'Rockingham Pottery & Porcelain (London, 1983), p. 122-3 and pl.67 where a plate from the same service is illustrated and where the authors note that this .. unusual dinner plate .. is distinctively enamelled in a famille verte palette over an oriental-style print, with even the paste tinted a greyish colour in imitation of hard-paste Chinese porcelain.'
