[comprising:] A part sheet of 60 1d. rose-carmine New Zealand stamps, Royle printing, overprinted in green with 'King Edward VII Land', with cancelled to order postmarks stamps dated '2.30pm, 4 March 1909', with selvedge on three sides; a similar part sheet of 43 stamps; a similar part sheet of 31 stamps, a similar part sheet of 9 stamps.

An interesting series, confirming that the expedition will be allowed to open 'a post office at King Edward VII Land, and that 100 sheets of stamps suitably overprinted' will be issued, giving details of the production of the stamps '24,000 stamps in all have been overprinted' and the names of those who should receive letters bearing the stamps.
Commander Sir Jameson Boyd ADAMS. Autograph letter with integral address panel signed to Dr. Henry Shackleton ('My dear Doctor'), [no place and no date but Antarctica, February 1907 with cancellation stamp dated 'Lyttelton 7 M(a)r(ch 19)08'] 1p., 8vo.
A letter sent back with the Nimrod when she returned to New Zealand at the end of February 1908, the stamp (with 'King Edward VII Land' overprinting) was evidently not cancelled in Antarctica and so bears the Lyttelton P.O. cancellation stamp.
