Pen and ink on card with letterpress names added using small slips of paper (17.7 x 25.2cm.) with autograph manuscript text in ink on verso. Provenance: R.C. Murphy; Sir Ernest Henry Shackleton (1874-1922), and thence by descent.

The form of the map suggests that it was prepared as the artwork for an unidentified publication. Murphy visited South Georgia in 1912 and published a number of articles on the island.
