A MEISSEN TWO-HANDLED CIRCULAR TUREEN, COVER AND STAND
Circa 1750

With Brühlsche Allerlei moulding, painted in puce and green camaieu with bouquets and flower-sprays within gilt-edged moulded cartouches, the centre to the stand with a loose bouquet and scattered flower-sprays, the tureen with gilt-edged cornucopia and shell-moulded handles with sprigs of cauliflower and asparagus, the domed cover similarly decorated and with a scantily draped female finial holding an upturned cornucopia of flowers (very minor chips to flowers on cover, some retouching to gilding, footrim chip to stand), blue crossed swords marks to tureen and stand
the stand 14 1/8in. (36cm.) diam.
