A GÖGGINGEN ARMORIAL BLUE AND WHITE MOULDED CIRCULAR DISH
Circa 1750

The central accollée quartered arms with crowned lion supporters flanked by foliage scrolls and elaborate diaper and scroll mantling surmounted by a crown, within a moulded shell, scroll and foliage border (some minor flaking to well, minute flaking and chips to rim, some minor areas of flaking to underside), Göggingen mark in blue
16 1/4in. (41.5cm.) diam.

Lot Essay

The arms are those of Landgraf Leopold von Hessen-Darmstadt and his wife Henriette Maria, Duchess of Modena
