Circa 1750

Painted in petit feu colours with figures and ruins in landscapes within gilt surrounds on moulded rococo scroll grounds further heightened with gilding, on three feet (one with hair crack, both with later drilled suspension holes, minor chips, lacking liners)

Lot Essay

A version of this model, much less crisply moulded and less finely detailed has been ascribed to the Milanese factory of Pasquale Rubati, though there are no marks to support this attribution
