Painted in manganese, blue, yellow and green with S PAULUS holding a book and a sword and standing beside a vase with an emergent winged putto, within a blue scroll half cartouche flanked by flower-sprays including manganese roses, the loop handle with a blue flower-spray (minor hairline crack to rim, slight chips to footrim), manganese Fff/B mark, the contemporary pewter mount with ball thumbpiece and inscribed 1614 at a later date
