With rounded ends and sliding tray, the blood-red top plain around a central oval cartouche of a betrothed European couple, floral sprays flanked by minute inscription cartouches above and below, within a gold scrolling frame, the red sides with floral sprays alternating with duck roundels within similar sprays, the red base and black tray plain (slight chipping)
8½in. (21.5cm.) long

According to the four-line inscription the qalamdan was a present to the Crown Prince Muzaffar Shah who succeeded to the throne in 1896 AD.
