Of irregular form, the upper flat surface carved with a kufic inscription within an arched panel, within a rectangle, the spandrels with trefoils, in a border of similar kufic inscriptions, a lunette above with arabesque leaves
text 15 x 12in. (38 x 30cm.); stone 22 x 14in. (57 x 36cm.)

Lot Essay

The inscription is in the name of Fatima, daughter of al-Husayn b. al-Husayn ... who died on the 19 Jumada AH 314 (1 August 926 AD).
