A MEISSEN PORCELAIN BALUSTER POT-POURRI VASE, COVER AND STAND

The cover with large foliate finial and pierced with scrolls, the body applied in high relief to the front and reverse with trailing fruit and flowers, a putto picking from them, surrounding a painted bouquet to one side and a scene of a couple holding a birdcage in a pastoral landscape to the other, the swelling shoulders with a pair of twin-branch handles, on a spreading scroll-moulded foot with further flower garlands and a young maiden with a basket of flowers, on a shaped square scroll-moulded stand on flower-encrusted feet, the front with the date in gilt 12 Juni 1862, with blue cross swords mark and incised to the underside of the vase 163 2745. 79, losses to some petals
