Each surmounted by a flame finial, above the tapering fluted stem hung with ribbon and laurel sprays, the five foliate scrolling branches each with a foliate-cast nozzle and drip-pan and joined by foliate festoons, the lower part cast with foliage, berries and acorns and terminating with a pair of tassels, the back of each variously stamped MB

Lot Essay

These festive love-trophy wall-lights are designed in the Louis XVI 'arabesque' manner of the 1780s, with two tiers of flower-festooned and acanthus-scrolled candle-branches, ribbon-tied to a laurel-twined Cupid's torch.
