1900 (28 Sept.) envelope headed "No Stamps available. near Lichternburg Sept.28th" with partial "ARMY POST OFFICE/CAPE TOWN" c.d.s., showing a good strike in magenta "RECOVERED FROM MAILS/LOOTED BY THE ENEMY", London (3.12) transit and (4.12) arrival c.d.s. alongside; most interesting as the letter was sent by Lord Methuen, a British commander in the Boer War
