4° (350 x 272mm). Engraved title with hand-coloured vignette, 55 coloured plates, most after T. Whitcombe. (Without list of subscribers, very occasional light spotting rarely intruding onto plates.) Red straight-grained morocco panelled in gilt with blue morocco on-lay stamped in gilt with the motto of Order of the Garter, Wellington arms and Napoleonic insignia in gilt at top and bottom of front cover, gilt spine, marbled endpapers, t.e.g., by Sangorski and Sutcliffe for Brentano. SOME PLATES WITH PRE-PUBLICATION DATE 1812; TITLE IN COLOURED STATE. Tooley 282; Abbey Life 337.
