Published by Thomas Gibson Bowles (1842-1922), Vanity Fair and Vanity Fair Album were among the most successful of caricature periodicals of the time, thanks to the efforts of innovative illustrators Pellegrini, who worked for Vanity Fair from 1865, Tissot from 1869-77, and Ward from 1873-1909.
