The final 1928 design of this chair was the result of many protoypes and experimental versions of the idea first conceived in 1922. The first production of the design was by Thonet, as model no. B306. The licence for the design was taken up by Embru in 1932 as model No. 2072, with slight constructional variations to the front and rear cross bars, and to the legs/feet.
