Applied with a gilt double-loop handle, the spout enamelled with a coat-of-arms, supporters, coronet and motto A D'Araujo, the rim decorated in sepia and blue enamels with a band of shaped cartouches of a riverscape, deer, birds, a dog and a farmer in landscape

Lot Essay

The arms are those of the first and only Count of Barca, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Minister of War, Councillor of State, Prime Minister, Minister of Marine in Brazil in 1814, founder of the Academy of Fine Arts in Brazil, scientist and author, born in Portugal in 1754, died in Brazil in 1817.
