Of stepped tapering form with moulded muzzle, engraved 'Egalité Liberté' within a shaped cartouche on the first reinforce and A.N. in script (for Armée Nationale) on the chase, the base ring signed 'Ramus au Creusot pluviôse l'an 4': on later iron-mounted four-wheeled stepped oak carriage, and retaining an old oak tampion
