A RARE CASED 15-BORE D.B. PERCUSSION SPORTING GUN

Rebuilt from flintlock, with twist barrels signed on the rib, case-hardened patent breeches each with platinum line and pierced platinum plug, signed case-hardened serial numbered locks engraved with scrollwork, a boar's head and two monster-heads, and each fitted with patent intercepting scears and patent external safety-catch activated by the bar on the trigger-guard tang, case-hardened scroll engraved tang, finely figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip, scroll engraved blued iron mounts, silver barrel-bolt escutcheons, and original brass-mounted ramrod, in very fine condition throughout with much original finish but partly recoloured at the time of rebuild: in lined and fitted mahogany case, probably original, with accessories, the lid with trade card and flush-fitting carrying handle, London proof marks, the barrels forged by Charles Lancaster
