A CASED 20-BORE GERMAN ROYAL D.B. PERCUSSION COMBINED SPORTING GUN AND RIFLE

With browned twist sighted barrels each with gold line at the rear, the right barrel cut with eight shallow grooves, engraved patent breeches each with two gold lines and gold-lined maker's stamp, case-hardened scroll engraved grooved tangs engraved with the crowned running horse of Hanover, serial numbered case-hardened locks also with gold-lined stamp, engraved with differing scenes of animals in landscapes, the hammers each with detachable striker and pivoting safety-stop, figured walnut half-stock, chequered grip, blued iron mounts engraved with scrollwork and further scenes of the chase, silver escutcheon and barrel-bolt escutcheons, set trigger for the right barrel, brass-tipped ramrod, and much original finish (sling mounts removed): in original fitted mahogany case lined in green velvet with some accessories including the original numbered bullet mould, and a pair of rebrowned interchangable smooth-bore barrels en suite, the lid with trade label and flush-fitting carrying handle
