With earlier sighted Turkish five-stage barrel cut with eight grooves, struck with maker's mark and chiselled in low relief with shaped panels picket out in silver and divided by silver bands, swamped muzzle inlaid with a design of petals in silver and gold (some inlay missing), brass-lined touch-hole, signed flat bevelled lock engraved with the seated figure of Mars and with a sporting trophy after De Lacollombe on the stepped tail (top jaw and screw replaced), moulded figured walnut full stock, carved cheek-piece, gilt-brass mounts including shaped side-plate, the trigger-guard with old German armoury tag, gilt-brass ramrod-pipes of octagonal section, fluted patch-box cover, horn fore-end cap, and original horn-tipped ramrod, the barrel late 17th Century
