With reblued shortened three-stage barrel signed in gold at the breech within gilt scrollwork and lines of punched and gilt dots, silver fore-sight surrounded by gilt scrollwork, gilt touch-hole, engraved tang, signed flat bevelled lock engraved with attributes of Science on the stepped tail (cock repaired), figured walnut full stock carved in relief behind the barrel tang and rear ramrod-pipe with scrolls, flowers, and foliage, engraved iron mounts including shaped solid side-plate, the trigger-guard with a trophy of the chase, and the tang of the butt-plate with a trophy of arms, the heads of the barrel-bolts engraved as scallops, and original iron-capped ramrod
