Lot Essay

An old type-written note signed by the late owner and sold with this lot reads: 'Smith - London. This pistol belonged to General Segram of Bathampton House, Wylye. He gave it to me as a present when he was over 80 years of age. I shot his rookery with flintlock guns for ten years'.
