A RARE PAIR OF 22-BORE FLINTLOCK OVER-AND-UNDER HOLSTER PISTOLS

With two-stage barrels, the upper one sighted and signed at the breech, the lower one engraved 'London', the back of each breech engraved with a band of foliage (worn), engraved tangs each secured by two screws, right- and left-hand locks each with external mainspring and signed rounded border engraved tail, moulded figured walnut butts each carved with a shell in relief behind the tang (one shell chipped), engraved iron trigger-guards each with small acorn finial, border engraved iron spurred pommels each with silver grotesque mask cap, cast and chased silver trophy of arms escutcheons each engraved with the crest of Frankland or Franklyn, and original iron-mounted wooden ramrods, London proof marks
