Lot Essay

Purdey's have kindly confirmed that the guns were built in 1898 with 29in. Krupp-steel barrels and that they were rebarrelled (28in.) by them in 1971. Interestingly, only approximately 98 pairs of barrels were supplied by Purdey in Krupp steel
