Lot Essay

Boss have kindly confirmed that the gun was completed as a hammer ejector gun in 1889. The entries emphasize the incorporation of Perkes Patent ejectors with underlining. The gun was built as the No. 1 of a pair costing ¨110, a considerable amount for the period. The gun was rebarrelled by Boss circa 1906 presumably because of the new demand for steel barrels
