Sergeant Albert Thomas Pitman, M.M. (1896-1955) was awarded the Military Medal following a Battalion attack to capture two lines of trenches on high ground between Pontruet and Thorigny, 1918. Sergeant Pitman was discharged at Wellington, after 24 years service, 1938.

Company Sergeant Major Alfred E. Jane arrived in France early in 1916; he distinguished himself when in command of his platoon during the attack on the enemy trenches at Neuve Chapelle, the Laventie Sector, 19th. July, 1916.
