The stamp would appear not to match that of either P. Pluvinet, maître in 1754, or L.M. Pluvinet, his son, maître in 1775. J. Nicolay, Maîtres Ebénistes Français, Paris, 1956, p. 374, states that there exists a number of pieces bearing the false stamp of L.M. Pluvinet
