Stylistically this table would appear to date from towards the beginning of the Biedermeier era (1815-1848). cf. a table with similar shaft and scrolled dolphin supports, G. Himmelheber, Deutsche Möbelvorlagen 1800-1900, Munich, 1988, p. 312, fig. 1411, the design being originally published in 1815 in the Journale des Luxus under der Moden, Weimar, 1807-1822
