James Fitz-James (1670-1734) was the natural son of James, Duke of York, later James II, by Arabella, elder sister of the great Duke of Marlborough. In 1687 he was created Duke of Berwick, Earl of Teignworth. He married Lady Honora Sarsfield (died 1698), daughter of Earl of Clanricarde in 1695, and secondly Anne, daughter of the Hon. Henry Bulkeley in 1700
