Three Tsuba
Muromachi-Edo Periods (16th-17th centuries)
The first, a twelve lobe Ko-Mino style mokkagata tsuba finished in shakudo-nanako and decorated with chrysanthemums in takabori and gold uttori, 2 5/16in. (6.2cm.) diameter; the second, an Akasaka school circular iron plate pierced with a design of a blossoming cherry tree, 3 1/4in. (8.2cm.) diameter; the third, a shakudo mokkagata plate decorated on the rim with chrysanthemums and scrolling vines in takabori, the dew drops in gilt and the inside of the rim finished in the style of a tachi tsuba, the two holes plugged in gold, 3 3/16in.
