Anna is the eldest daughter of David John, Augustus and Ida's son (1902-1974). She remembers sitting to her grandfather in the downstairs studio at Fryern Court wearing his hat. She was a student at the time and was very grateful for the £5 he gave her. She sat for two further portraits.
