John Charles Lyons of Ledestown (sometimes known as Ledeston), Co. Westmeath was JP and DL for Westmeath, High Sheriff in 1816 and a captain in the Westmeath Militia. Born in 1782, he married Penelope Melesine Tuite in 1826 and died in 1874. Author and local historian best known for The Grand Juries of Co. Westmeath from the year 1827 to the year 1853, two vols., printed on his own press at Ledestown in 1853.
