A sketch for 'A Peepshow of the Battle of Waterloo' (exhibited M. Newman, March 1965, no.44, repr.), which has differences to the present picture: one or two more figures, slightly varied in placing. A drawing of the subject inscribed 'Battle of Waterloo' was in an album of drawings at Sotheby's, 18 March 1982, lot 25, in which there are greater differences
