etching with drypoint, circa 1650, third (final) state, a good impression of this rare print, with traces of burr, the horizontal scratches in the sky distinct, on fine, laid paper without watermark, trimmed just within the platemark, a small made-up loss at the left and right sheet corners beyond the subject, several small touches of pen and brown ink in the trees and on the cottages, a thin area at the base of the foremost tree visible from the reverse, a few small foxmarks and some pale staining in the sky, old paper adhesions at the upper and reverse left sheet edges
