lithograph, 1861, on chine appliqué, first state (of three), before the appearance of the white bird, from the very rare First Edition (intended to be about 100, but probably much less; the total edition was about 800), printed by Lemercier, Paris, the address erased, with margins, one or two tiny nicks at the support sheet edges, a short repaired tear at the lower sheet edge, some minor surface dirt in the margins, some paper abrasions at the reverse sheet edges, otherwise generally in good condition
